Gwarant Heater for Boiler with Thermostat, 5/4 Thread, 2000W Power

Application

The heating element MW150, MW200, MW250, and MW300 with a thermostat, hereinafter referred to as the electric module, is intended solely for heating domestic water in water exchangers: boilers, thermos, radiators, or other devices. A practical use of the module is to support water heating during the heating season, for example: in boilers with a coil or independent water heating outside the season.

How to install the electric module?

The electric module (fig. 2a) should be installed horizontally both in vertical (fig. 1) and horizontal (fig. 2) exchangers, where the design allows connecting the electric module with a thread of 1.1/4”, 1.1/2” and 1" with a length of 370mm for MW150, 430mm for MW200, 460mm for MW250, and 500mm for MW300.

Correct mounting - horizontally with the sensor at the bottom - of the electric module in exchangers when the arrow on the label points downward (fig. 4).

For vertical exchangers with the heater screwed in vertically from the bottom, only the electric module with a heater bent downward, so-called “P” (fig. 3) should be used.

Operation of the electric module

The electric module contains an electric heater, a thermostat with smooth temperature control, and a double-pole thermal switch protecting against overheating of the water (above 90° C). The temperature is selected manually using the knob located on the front (fig. 4) of the electric module. The lamp above the temperature control knob signals the heater's operation. Above the knob is also the thermal switch button.

Important!

Since the electric module has a thermal switch protecting against overheating of the water (above 90°C) (when heating only with the heater), it is absolutely necessary to avoid overheating the water from the second heat source (coil, horseshoe) above 80° C. If this happens, the thermal switch in the electric module will activate, which will turn off the module and protect the heater from damage. To restart the electric module, the water temperature in the boiler must be significantly lowered (below 60° C) and the thermal switch button pressed (fig. 4).

Protection against electric shock Class I. When the temperature knob is turned fully to the left, the electric module does not turn on (note: above 10° C ambient temperature). To completely turn off, unplug the power plug (or in the version with a rocker switch, set it to the “0” position).

Installation

When installing the electric module, remember:

- Seal the mounting place carefully with a fiber gasket or other available sealing means

- Do not bend the heater, do not tap the housing

- Tighten with a wrench (not by the housing) while holding the power cable

- Fill the tank with water and vent the installation

- To avoid corrosion of the heater plug, after installing the heating module and filling the boiler with water, vent the coupling (slightly loosen the heater so that air escapes from the coupling where it is mounted), then check the threaded connection for leaks and tighten the heating module if necessary

- Insert the plug into a socket with a grounded protective pin

- Set the required water temperature with the knob

- For long life and heater protection, the use of an anode, e.g., magnesium, is required.

- When installing the heater in both new and used boilers, a functional anode is required.

If any irregularities in the operation of the electric module are found, disconnect the power plug from the socket, remove the module, and deliver it to the seller or manufacturer.

Usage

- All work related to installation and removal must be performed after disconnecting the power supply

- The use of fuses with a rating higher than 16A in the network is prohibited

- Do not pour water on the electric module housing during installation as it may cause a short circuit or electric shock

- Do not turn on without water (this may cause heater overheating)

- Do not overheat from the second heat source, e.g., coil, horseshoe, above 80° C

- The socket must always have a functional protective contact and be easily accessible

- At least once a year and after any failure, check and possibly clean the plug with the protective contact

- If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced with a special cable or assembly available from the manufacturer

- If the electric module will not be used for a long time, turn it off by unplugging it from the power socket

- Damage to the heating element due to scale deposits is not covered by the warranty

Do not use in stainless steel tanks!

Maintenance

All maintenance work must be performed after unplugging the power plug from the mains socket. Do not immerse the heater housing in water; clean only with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use corrosive or abrasive agents. Turn the heater on again only after it is completely dry.
