The draft regulator is an automatic thermostatic device designed to regulate the temperature in boilers fired with solid fuel. The thermostatic head of the regulator, under the influence of fluctuations in the water temperature in the boiler, uses a lever and chain or cable to open or close the damper, increasing or decreasing the air supply to the firebox. Installing the draft regulator involves screwing it directly into the water jacket. The desired boiler temperature is set by adjusting the control knob on the regulator.
