The ART PDW regulator is a controller for fine coal boilers - top-loading, and at the same time a successor to the ART PD regulator. The microprocessor ART PDW regulator is designed to control the operation of the blower and circulation pump in central heating installations where there is no need to regulate the fan speed (air supply regulation by the blower damper), and it has an output for connecting remote control.
Functions of the ART PDW controller
- control of the central heating circulation pump
- support for PILOT or room thermostat
- anti-freeze system below 5°C
- pump anti-seizure system
- fuel shortage control
- clear LED display
- easy-to-use menu
Operation (regulation, supervision, standby, shutdown).
When powered on, with a cold boiler and the regulation process off (the PUMP and BLOWER lights are off), the controller displays the current water temperature in the boiler and remains in the off state. If the boiler temperature is higher than the pump activation temperature, the controller turns on the pump regardless of the operating state - the PUMP light is on.
The regulation process starts after pressing the START/STOP button (the IGNITION light is on). The IGNITION light stays on until the boiler reaches the temperature set in parameter Na. During the regulation process, the current temperature is compared with the set value (setpoint). The blower operation is indicated by the BLOWER light.
At a certain temperature – set in the service parameters (factory default 35°C) – the circulation pump is turned on, indicated by the PUMP light. After reaching the desired temperature, the controller switches to supervision mode, indicated by a blinking dot in the lower right corner of the display (5). In supervision mode, purges operate (only at temperatures below 85°C).
These are periodic blower activations lasting several seconds to prevent gas accumulation in the boiler and possible flame extinction. The purge activation is indicated by the blinking BLOWER light. Desired temperature settings can be made at any operating state. Settings are adjusted with the “+” and “–” buttons. During temperature setting, digits blink on the display and the current setting is shown. The mode exits automatically a few seconds after the last button press. To just view the current setting, press either the “+” or “–” button once.
Active thermostat (heating in the room, closed contacts of the room thermostat) If the desired temperature (set on the thermostat) is higher than the temperature in the room where the thermostat is located - the thermostat contacts are closed, the central heating pump runs (if the boiler temperature is above the pump activation temperature), and the blower runs until the desired temperature is reached. The active thermostat state (closed contacts) is indicated on the Art PDW controller by a blinking PILOT/room thermostat light.
Remote control of the Art PDW controller.
An optional remote control panel PILOT R/G from PPHU “ProND” or a room thermostat from any manufacturer can be connected to the Art PDW controller.
The complete package should include:
