Ognik Plus DHW is designed to control a solid fuel boiler. The controller provides heating control for rooms and Domestic Hot Water (DHW). It can work with a room thermostat and various types of fuel feeders, e.g., screw, piston, or without a feeder (only blower). During the summer period, when building heating is unnecessary, it is possible to enable the "DHW only" mode (domestic hot water only).

How does PID control work?

The controller with a PID algorithm turns the boiler on at the power currently needed to maintain the set temperature. The boiler heats continuously, there are no downtimes, and there are no sudden temperature changes in the chimney or combustion chamber. The outlet water temperature is very stable.
Boiler power regulation is done in 1% steps – so the minimum power is 1% (this is the fire maintenance state) and the maximum is 100%. The controller automatically adjusts fuel doses and air quantity; the user only sets the boiler water temperature! Precise adjustment of the fuel/air ratio provides high combustion efficiency; compared to classic control, fuel savings sometimes exceed 40%.
