PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The chimney draft regulator / damper prevents the chimney from "drafting" air and raising the temperature on the boiler.
WHAT EXACTLY DOES THIS MEAN???
In coal dust boilers, where a blower supporting the combustion process is used, the effect of the chimney drafting the temperature set on the controller occurs quite often, i.e. we set the boiler to e.g. 60 degrees, the temperature is reached, the controller turns off the blower and the temperature... RISES!!! Air is sucked into the boiler through the blower inlet!!!
WHAT THEN???
Even the best and most expensive controller cannot cool down the boiler - in such a case it is powerless!!! The boiler burns faster, less economically.
WHY SHOULD YOU INSTALL A CHIMNEY DRAFT REGULATOR?
The principle of operation is very simple, the regulator opens only when the blower is working. If the blower is not working, the regulator closes by itself, without electricity, batteries, etc. It has a mechanical counterweight that always causes it to close!!!
HOW TO CHECK IF YOUR BOILER NEEDS SUCH A REGULATOR???
Some readers of this description already know they need such a regulator because they have problems maintaining the set temperature on the boiler. For those who want to check - turn off the controller so that the blower stops, light e.g. a lighter and hold it near the blower where it draws air. A regulator will be needed if the flame is blown out by the air being drawn in or if the flame noticeably flickers.
Chimney draft regulators can help save up to 20% of fuel.
The frame dimensions are shown in one of the pictures.
TECHNICAL DATA - FRAME DIMENSIONS:
- outer frame width: 105 mm
- outer frame height: 65 mm
- inner frame width: 70 mm
- inner frame height: 45 mm
- damper thickness: 70 mm (this is how far the blower will be set away from the boiler)
