Hydrochloric acid-based liquid for removing boiler scale from domestic hot water installations. Do not use on aluminum parts.

  • Liquid for use undiluted or diluted to dissolve boiler scale in installations made of steel, cast iron, galvanized steel, copper, brass and/or stainless steel, except aluminum.
  • The product can also be used to remove boiler scale from closed central heating systems.
  • When using a pump for removing boiler scale, use the product G61 DETARTRANT S’EMPLOIE AVEC POMPE (PRODUCT FOR SCALE REMOVAL DESIGNED FOR USE WITH A PUMP).
  • If the installation contains aluminum parts, use the product G62 DETARTRANT EXPRESS (PRODUCT FOR EXPRESS SCALE REMOVAL).

Specifications Characteristics

  • Appearance Colorless liquid
  • Density 1.1
  • pH at 20°C < 1
  • Additional data The product turns brownish when saturated with scale.
  • The product can be discharged into sewer wells if the liquid is brown. Otherwise, dilute it with water to achieve a pH value between 6.5 and 9.

Instructions for use

  • Note: Always pour the scale remover into water, not the other way around.
  • It is strongly recommended to neutralize residual acidity caused by scale removal using product G70 NEUTRALISANT (NEUTRALIZING PRODUCT). Ø OPEN SYSTEM (domestic hot water)

Usage instructions - Removing scale from the coil

  • Empty the coil and dismantle it.
  • Fill completely with pure or diluted product depending on the amount of scale and leave for a maximum of one and a half hours.
  • If the solution flows out saturated, repeat the operation.
  • Empty and rinse using product G70 NEUTRALISANT (NEUTRALIZING PRODUCT) to ensure removal of residual acidity.

Removing boiler scale from the tank

  • Empty the tank to 9/10 and pour one liter of pure product through the tank inlet.
  • Leave for a maximum of one and a half hours
  • If the solution flows out saturated, repeat the operation.
  • Then remove scale from the coil separately.
  • Secure the result by flushing the system using product G70 NEUTRALISANT (NEUTRALIZING PRODUCT).

Usage instructions

  • Turn off the boiler (and circulation pump).
  • Drain the system of an amount of water corresponding to the amount of product used (at boiler height or the lower part of the system).
  • Introduce the product in the recommended dose through the upper part of the system (e.g., radiator air vent) or using appropriate equipment.
  • Refill with water to restore working pressure.
  • Restart the system.
  • Run the circulation pump for a maximum of 30 minutes.
  • Turn off the boiler and drain the system (collectors and valves must be fully open). If the content flows out saturated, repeat the operation.
  • Fill the system with water containing product G70 NEUTRALISANT (NEUTRALIZING PRODUCT) (1 liter per 100 liters to remain in the system). Restart the system (run the circulation pump for 30 minutes). Bleed the radiators well to remove all air. The system is cleaned of scale and can operate normally again.
  • We recommend noting information about the operation performed (product name, date, etc.).
